Michelle - Owner/Director In March of 1990, Michelle opened "Michelle's Studio of Dance," instructing children and adults the many forms of dance. Michelle is trained in Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theater and Tap. She has also earned degrees in Model/Talent instruction and in Television and Radio Broadcasting. Throughout the mid and late '80s, Michelle was performing and competing regionally and nationally and in 1986 held the "Teen Talent Division" in the Young Miss America Pageant program. Starla - Instructor/Choreographer Starla has been dancing at Michelle's Studio of Dance since 1991. She has studied Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, Musical Theater, Clogging, Latin/Salsa and Tumbling. Starla has also trained under national choreographers such as: Joe Tremaine, Doug Caldwell, Liz Imperio, Rhonda Miller, Eddie Garcia, Charles McGowan, Cris Judd, Keith Clifton and Greg Russell. Starla has performed and competed in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Broadway. In 2001, Starla was awarded a dance scholarship at the Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, CA. She has also performed aboard the Rhapsody of the Seas with Royal Caribbean cruise lines in October 2004. Email Starla direct at starla@msodance.com
Wendy - Instructor/Choreographer Wendy has trained at Michelle's Studio of Dance since 1994. She has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Pointe, Lyrical, Clogging, Salsa, Tumbling, Modern and the list keeps growing! Wendy was also in the musical production "Rumplestiltskin" with Puget Sound Musical Theater in 1998. Wendy has won numerous awards in individual and group routines at various dance competitions in the Pacific Northwest. She has also performed aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise in October 2004. Aside from her teaching career, Wendy has been numerous costume characters at the Western Washington Fair such as Garfield, Dora the Explorer, Spongebob and her all-time favorite, the Puyallup Fair cow. Marika - Instructor/Choreographer Marika is a dancer and choreographer with over 20 years of experience. She has been teaching professionally for the past 7 years. She has taught a variety of classes from Ballet, Tap and Jazz to Modern, Lyrical and Liturgical. She received her Associates in the Arts from Mercer Community College, where she majored in dance. Marika has been a part of a New Jersey dance company called Mercer Dance Ensemble which had an emphasis on modern dance. She has also performed with the company TMCJ in Virginia Beach dancing in the play The Man Called Jesus in April 2007. She has a love and appreciation for the arts that she hopes to pass on to other through the gift of dance. Email Marika direct at marika@msodance.com
Nicole - Instructor/Choreographer Nicole has danced at Michelle's Studio of Dance for 15 years. She was a member of the dance team for 4 years. Nicole has attended numerous conventions, competitions, Tap Festivals in Kirkland and Nationals multiple times in Canada. She was one of the Dancer's of the Year and danced in the Nationals Showcase. Nicole has also danced on 2 different cruise ships and had the opportunity to perform in Disneyland. She has studied Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theater, Tap and Hip Hop. Perry - Security/Maintenance
Jennifer - Instructor Jen has been acting, singing, and dancing for 20 years. She has her BA degree in theatre arts with an emphasis on performance, and she also has her MA degree in theatre production. Jen has taught theatre in the public schools for 8 years and has directed over 16 stage productions. She has also taught at Grandstreet Theatre in Helena, MT and has been their scenic artist and designer for Once on This Island, Into the Woods, and West Side Story. She has performed in both community, college and professional theatre productions across Washington state.
Stacia - Instructor Stacia began dancing at age 8 in Kellogg, ID and is currently dancing away in our Adult Program. She has worked for the Sumner School District and has a love for working with children. Stacia is also a dance mom of 5 girls.
